The British government is ready to advance with using the full worth of seized Russian holdings to support the Ukrainian military campaign, PM Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a collective announcement, the heads of state of the Britain, France, and Germany stated that this joint measure would heighten pressure on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and persuade the Russian Federation to come to the table.

They clarified that the move would be executed in strong partnership with the America.

British restrictions have frozen over £25bn of Russian funds since Moscow began its full-scale invasion against Ukraine in 2022. Yet, until now, resources sent to Ukraine using Russia's assets had only been taken from profits and interest generated on them.

Sir Keir assured President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and Germany were aligned in their desire to drive progress toward employing the complete amount of the frozen Moscow's national funds to conclude the conflict.

He added that additional sanctions in the coming days and weeks would apply more pressure on the Russian government.

This statement follows European Union leaders met in the Danish capital recently to consider utilizing immobilized Russia's funds for a €140bn loan to Ukraine.

Recently, US President Donald Trump urged Group of Seven partners to seize or otherwise use frozen Russia's holdings, as reported by media sources.

The worth of frozen Russian holdings in the Europe is estimated to be nearly €211bn.

The Russian government executed widespread aerial attacks all over Ukraine on Friday, causing power cuts in significant regions of the capital city, Kyiv, and several other zones.

Several persons were fatally injured and a minimum of 20 people were hurt in the strike, Ukrainian officials said.

In a post on social media subsequent to the incident, Zelensky stated that the cynical and calculated attack targeted non-military and power facilities.

"What is required is not just talk but concrete steps - from the America, EU, and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and applying restrictions," he emphasized.

"Each restrictive measure diminishes the Russian war effort," Zelensky declared, in a separate post.

In the same period, Zelensky told the press he would urge Sir Keir to enter the weapons procurement programme, under which partner nations buy weapons from the US to provide to Ukraine.

While applauding the Britain's firm backing for the Ukrainian government, he remarked it should send a clear signal that it would participate in the system, as well as impose more measures on Moscow.
