British Minister for Culture to Convene Meeting on Israeli Football Club Fan Ban
The law enforcement official from the West Midlands has called for an immediate review of the ruling to ban Maccabi Tel Aviv's supporters from attending the forthcoming match.
The commissioner, who oversees the force, explains that this request aims to determine whether the prohibition is suitable, essential, warranted, sensible, and a proportionate step to accomplish a legitimate aim.
"This must include evaluation of every and any appropriate, other choices," the official adds.
The commissioner has also requested to examine the written decision and recommendation from the safety committee, as well as the law enforcement evaluation.
He stresses, though, that the final decision belongs to the committee and the authorities.
