President Trump stated on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a National Guard member killed last week to come to the presidential home.

He noted that he conversed with her parents and they were “devastated”.

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a violent incident on Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in grave state.

Presidential Invitation

The commander-in-chief said he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the parents of both individuals of the state National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president told reporters. “And in the same way with him, recover or not.”

Public Support

Attendees gathered over the weekend at Webster County high school in West Virginia to remember Sarah.

Both they had been serving with the military unit as part of Trump’s federal initiative to aid law enforcement in the capital.

Remembering the Soldier

“Sarah was the individual that instructors hoped for. She behaved with calm resilience, a bright grin and a positive energy that encouraged those around her,” the principal, the head of Beckstrom’s previous school, stated to the media. “She was caring, considerate and always willing to support those in need.”

Funeral plans for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Steps and Policy Adjustments

Authorities have accused a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of murder and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The event caused the Trump administration to suspend asylum applications and temporarily stop providing visas to possessors of Afghan passports.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

The airman, a native of the city, began his service in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the Associated Press.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, the state’s governor Morrisey said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi told Fox News Sunday that she aimed to visit his relatives.

Sarah, from her hometown, graduated from her high school in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a law enforcement officer with distinction, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had bravery,” he addressed the gathering at the vigil. “Though her time was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
