Renowned Star Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
US entertainer Finn, who featured in popular TV shows like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles this Monday following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a statement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive TV Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on several hit series, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Away from his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.
Pat Finn is survived by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
