The Gruesome Cartoon Film Ending That Haunts Audiences

Out of all the adult-oriented cartoon movies I’ve personally watched, no other has stuck with me quite like the fear-filled conclusion of a viscerally violent and deeply subversive 2022 movie Unicorn Wars.

Back in the year 2015, the Spain-based filmmaker crafted a dark, bleak and frequently brutal world that included some tiny , forlorn twinges of optimism.

While Unicorn Wars appears as it came from an impulse to advance animation further, the director stated that it was rather an effort to convey a global, cross-cultural message regarding “the shared root of each battle.”

That idea is conveyed via a group of brightly hued teddy bears , openly based on a popular line of lovable characters.

Growing up in a community built around militarism as well as the defense industry, numerous these animals are consumed by killing the mythical beasts, thanks to a sacred text which states the bears they previously were rulers of the woodland, before the horned beings forced them out.

Some have not completely fallen for the brainwashing, , would rather try out narcotics and mate outdoors.

In contrast to their cuddly equivalents, these bright beings have visible genitals , obvious urges.

For a particular especially vicious, pessimistic creature, Bluey, the war with unicorns turns into a path to power — and specifically to dominance over his more tender, kinder brother Tubby.

The character is a bully and an apparent antisocial figure , and when terror takes over his group and takes his fellow soldiers sequentially, he grabs increasingly power on his own behalf, via progressively gory, harmful methods.

Meanwhile, these mythical beings are experiencing their own horror, as an expanding, deadly beast in their habitat.

“At the beginning, it appears as a comedy,” the filmmaker said. “But then it evolves into a more intense and melancholic movie. And by the end, it becomes a horror film.”

Unicorn Wars starts out feeling a bit like one of the more whimsical films by a legendary filmmaker, that uncover a naughty glee in permitting animated figures curse, fire weapons, or sex each other up.

Afterward it evolves into closer to a more grim movie by that same artist, including ever more explicit brutality , a tangible connection to genuine horror of war.

In the finale, it becomes a complete extreme drama carnage.

The terror that turns the film a Halloween-friendly watch begins well before than that description suggests.

Unicorn Wars is suited for the hardcore lovers of violence, for fans of graphic films who wish to watch a movie they’ve never viewed until now, and can endure a plot which delivers no restraint.

Watch it in a dimly lit space without any distractions, and the conclusion will dig deep within you and take up residence there.
