White House Decries 'Democratic Hoax' as More Epstein Estate Photographs Disclosed
Democratic lawmakers have published a additional set of what they labeled "troubling" photographs from the estate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, featuring among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The initial drop of 19 photographs—some of which have been previously circulated—combined with another 70 released later on Friday account for a tiny fraction of the nearly 100,000 images released to the House investigative panel, which is examining the behavior and associations of Epstein.
The fallen money manager was a victim of apparent suicide in a New York jail cell in 2019 after being charged with sex-trafficking charges.
Prominent Personalities in the Photos
Featured among the notable figures visible in the initial batch are celebrities including movie maker Woody Allen; Microsoft founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, creator of the Virgin empire.
Donald Trump appears in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is pictured with six women, whose faces are blacked out.
Administration Reaction
The White House responded to the release in a statement, accusing Democrats of purposefully "choosing" the photographs for electoral motives and to "try and create a false storyline."
"This Democratic fabrication against President Trump has been repeatedly debunked," a presidential representative stated, asserting that "the current government has achieved more for Epstein's victims than Democrats have ever done by consistently demanding openness, releasing numerous documents of papers, and demanding further investigations into Epstein's Democratic associates."
Panel Member Remarks
The photographs were published without context, but according to a California Democrat and ranking member of the oversight committee, they raise more questions about Epstein's associations with the rich and powerful.
"It is time to end this White House concealment and secure justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his well-connected allies," he declared in a release.
The release of these materials comes as the oversight committee proceeding with its inquiry into the Epstein matter.
